A makeover of a traditional brick fireplace. We removed the hearth and faced the firebox with Travertine. Wood paneling, trim, fluted columns, and crown molding complete this elegant living room feature. The sunken portion of the living room was filled with concrete and new handscraped oak flooring was installed.
The "before" at this home included a metal front door, tile floors and a carpeted staircase. In the "after" shot you see a Mahogany door and sidelights, hand-scraped oak flooring, and a matching oak and iron staircase. The balusters of the staircase received a light antiquing to match the new chandelier.
Our homeowner is a gourmet chef. Features include: Wolf, dual fuel range, convection oven, microwave and warming drawer.
We started with a tile floor, stained cabinets, laminate countertops, dark wallpaper and insufficient lighting. The kitchen was opened up by removing an "L" peninsula on the sink side cabinet wall. Features include: hand-scraped oak flooring, granite countertops and stone backsplash, skip-trowel wall finish, updated lighting, including pendants and undercabinet halogens.
